npx shokk

A few weeks back, the TLDR newsletter had an article about an npx business card
https://ashley.dev/posts/turning-feedback-into-features/?utm_source=tldrnewsletter, and as I’ve been on a kick with business links lately (https://namedrop.io/ernestoporto), I thought it would be an interesting read. So I quickly clicked it and then promptly ignored it in my iPhone Edge tabs for about a month, as I often do. Eventually, since tabs are not bookmarks, I went through my usual tab cleanup, which does involve acting on the info, like reading it or filing it or deleting it; kind of like GDT except without any kind of urgency whatsoever.

Right before a recent vacation, I decided to take a look at the code as a distraction from both packing and watching Netflix. As someone who has long loved vi but lacks knowledge of npm, this was not a bad quick learning experience. Ashley Willis’ post was certainly an encouragement in looking at this code, and it was kind of a fun mini-project. The result is https://www.npmjs.com/package/shokk, which is clearly simple and needs some tweaking, but is the first time in a while that I’ve made something that other people can run.
